What we collect
The details you give us when you set up a profile, such as your name, date of birth, timezone, languages, and interests. Plus the records created as you use Schmoozly: bookings, payments, ratings, and support messages.
What other people can see
Your profile shows your first name only. Last names, email addresses, and phone numbers are never shown to other users, and this is enforced by the system rather than by policy alone. Hosts additionally show their tagline, bio, languages, price, rating, and intro video.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Schmoozly does not store your full card details.
Video sessions
Sessions run through an embedded video provider. Sessions are not recorded, and no recording or transcript is stored.
Analytics and error reporting
We use analytics and error monitoring to understand how the product is used and to find bugs. These carry identifiers rather than your name, email, or the content of your conversations.
On our public pages (not your account, bookings, or sessions) we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure visits and where they come from.
Getting a copy of your data
You can download everything we hold about you as a file, at any time, from the settings page. The file lists anything deliberately withheld and why.
Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account by contacting support, and we will handle it for you. Some records connected to completed sessions and payments have to be kept: financial entries, ratings, and session history form the record of transactions between you and other people, and cannot be removed on request. Closing your account removes you from the marketplace and ends access to it.
